I've heard a lot about Inca Kola, and most of what I've heard about it is that it's disgusting. And yet it is so popular in Peru! I was intrigued by this Inca Kola. I once saw it at a cafe in Chicago, but was cashless and couldn't buy it. Tonight I saw it at Harvest Time Foods and scooped it right up.I brought it home. I opened it. I imagined the cherry-tar flavor that I was sure was about to pour into my mouth. Or maybe -- maybe it would taste like blueberries + rootbeer. I had no idea. I was just so ready for the disgustingness that was so popular in Peru.
I sniffed. It smelled sweet.
I took a sip.
Bubblegum. It tastes like bubblegum. Bubblegum is the flavor that is notoriously disgusting.
Now, I don't exactly love the taste of bubblegum, or soda for that matter, but I've been sipping on it while I eat my rice and beans, and while it's certainly sickeningly sweet, it's not really that bad of a beverage.

There's a Jamaican soda called Kola Champagne and I think it tastes EXACTLY like bubblegum. Keita thought I was crazy the first time I told him that but I will defend my statement until my last breath.
